Maria Low discusses many ways to use essential oils including massage, diffusion (inhalation) and ingestion. She looks at the history of massage in Europe and the ways that the English, French and Germans differed in their approach to essential oils.
Massage helps with relieving stress and emotional support. Diffusion or inhalation is breathing in the essential oils. One of the things about diffusing – if you have a very ill person – you can put the diffuser beside their bed. There are some hospitals in Europe that actually have computerized diffusers, they will actually select the different oils and diffuse them into the tent to help heal the patient.
The French prescribed ingestion of their oils, and when you went to see your doctor or your aroma therapist, they would have a little tablet or a little piece of bread and they would put the oil on there for the patient to eat to calm down the patient when they first came to the office.
Maria has many favorite ways to use essential oils: vita-flex with the oils, touch therapy, lymphatic massage, and the Raindrop Technique on the spine and the feet. Essential oils can work with emotional support, and various health conditions from the new born to the elderly, to pets and to livestock. Everybody is included!
