In the past year, we’ve made efforts to decrease the number of artificial chemicals we use in our home. We’ve already eliminated most junk food from our diet and now, I’ve started looking at our other household products. My husband is very sensitive to aerosols and artificially scented candles. As such, I do not use air fresheners and use only battery operated candles. With 5 cats and me being an avid cook, the house doesn’t always smell as fresh as I would like, so I started looking at using essential oils. Essential oils have many health benefits and several are even organic.
I got this Essential oil diffuser and set it on the bar in the kitchen along with some essential peppermint oil. The diffuser has two settings – continuous or one cool mist burst every 30 seconds. It also puts on a pretty cool light show. You can either let it constantly rotate through the colors, choose a steady color, or have the color display off.
As a safety feature, it automatically shuts off when it runs out of water.
I’ve been using it continuously for about a week. So far, I haven’t had any problems with the device. The auto shut off has engaged properly. It’s been misting every 30 seconds, as it should be, and keeping the home smelling fresh without artificial (and possibly harmful) fragrances.
I love that I can easily change the fragrances to suit our moods or needs. I can use lavender at bath or bed time, peppermint during the day, vanilla for relaxation…
I do wish that choosing the colors was just a bit easier – like on a dial instead of having to push the button. It has a lot of colors and that can equal a lot of button presses to get to your one favorite, steady color. However, I prefer the color rotation (or completely off), so it’s not a huge deal for me. I’m thinking of getting another one for the bedroom and bathroom area so I don’t have to move this one every night. So far I’m very pleased.
I received a discount for review purposes, but my opinions are my own and I’ve been very happy with this product.
