SAN JUAN POLICE SAY WHILE THEY’LL BE OUT IN FULL FORCE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON—THEY CAN’T DO IT ALONE—THEY NEED YOUR HELP..
Ramirez says in his years working as a patrolman during the holiday season he’s learned a thing or two about what will attract thieves to a home.
Empty electronics boxes sitting at the curb, yard ornaments (not secured to the ground) and no cars in the driveway just to name a few.
San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez tells Action 4 News thieves view these signs as easy targets.
So when it comes time to take out those empty boxes that once held a Christmas surprise, be careful.
Another tip, engrave those personal belongings. Chief Gonzalez says many times they’re unable to return stolen items they recover because there is no proper identification on the item, so they end up in an auction.
As San Juan Police prepare for a busy holiday season they say help from the community will help them keep thos holiday thieves at bay.
