When should you apply Essential Oils? When you need a natural solution for kid cuts and scrapes.
This recipe is for aloe vera gel with essential oils. It really helps to soothe minor cuts and scrapes kids might get as they’re playing.
The essential oils in this cuts and scrapes blend also have cleansing properties, so they help reduce infection as they relieve pain. The aloe absorbs very easily. It doesn’t burn, and you don’t have to press on the cut to rub it in. (Kids love that!)
In a PET plastic flip-top bottle, combine:
2 oz (56 gm) Aloe vera gel (Aloe barbadensis) (0:43)
2 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) (1:45)
2 drops Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) (1:58)
2 drops Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) (2:10)
I usually prefer to use glass for essential oil blends, but PET plastic is known as a non-reactive plastic that doesn’t leach. In cases where glass isn’t ideal, such as for blends that kids might drop, PET plastic is a good choice.
If you store this blend in the fridge, it will be nice and cool when you apply it to a cut or scrape. The essential oils also have emotionally centering effects that help kids calm down after getting hurt. It’s so healing on multiple levels!
